THIS INSPECTION WAS CONDUCTED IN SPANISH

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Susann Sanchez and Joshua Ortega conducted an unannounced annual required inspection. LPA met with Licensee who guided analyst on a tour of the facility. There were four infants and five children and 4 adults present when LPA arrived. Facility capacity is in compliance for a Large Family Child Care Home. Hours of operation are Mon-Fri 6:00 AM - 6:00PM.

This is a two story home which consists of 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. Areas used by children in care are as follows: kitchen (where children eat), two restrooms, patio, Licensee's bedroom, bedroom, garage, day-care room attached to garage, and backyard. Per Licensee, areas off limits to children and parents include: living room, dining area, complete second floor, 3 bedrooms, and 1 bathroom. Food is provided by Licensee. Licensee was reminded if children bring food from home it must be labeled with the child’s name and properly stored or refrigerated.

Individuals residing in the home have been discussed and noted. All adults present in the home have obtained a criminal record clearance or exemption.

All areas identified on the facility sketch that are accessible for children to use were inspected for safety, comfort, and cleanliness. The following was observed and reviewed during this inspection:

LPA reviewed required posted documentation for Facility License and Publication (PUB) 394- Notification of Parent Rights. Facility records were reviewed for LIC 9040- Facility Roster, LIC 610- Facility Disaster Plan. Drill was conducted during inspection.

Fire extinguisher indicated fully charged and was serviced within the year. The home maintains telephone service via land line and cell phone. The home is observed to be clean and orderly. There are toys and other age appropriate material available for children.

LPA observed that detergents, cleaning compounds and medication are inaccessible to children. Licensee states that there are no poisons stored in the home and understands that all poisons must be lock, not only inaccessible to children. Isolation area for sick children waiting to be picked up is in the day care room, away from the other children. Per Licensee there are no firearms or weapons stored in the home.

Licensee cares for four infant. LPA observed a crib visible in Licensee's bedroom and in the bedroom. Napping equipment does not block entrances or exits. Infant mattresses were observed to be firm with tightly fitted sheets. LPA did not observe loose object, bumpers, objects hanging, or objects attached to the crib. There are currently no infants with pacifiers. Per Licensee wet soiled sheets are changed and washed immediately. Each infant has their own crib/ play yard and bedding. Bedding is washed weekly.

Children are using the backyard for outdoor play. The outdoor play area was observed to be fenced. LPA observed that the outdoor yard has toys and other materials for children to play with. LPA did not observe any objects that could be hazardous to children in care. There are no pools or spas, or other bodies of water.

Children’s records were reviewed for (LIC) 282- Affidavit Regarding Liability Insurance, Immunization Records, LIC 700- Identification and Emergency Information, LIC 627- Consent for Medical Treatment, LIC 995A Notification of Parents’ Rights.

Staff records were reviewed for approved Pediatric First Aid and CPR certification (expires 03/24/25) , LIC 508- Criminal Record Statement, LIC 9052- Employee Rights, Proof of immunization against measles, pertussis and influenza or influenza declination, TB clearance or risk assessment, and current Mandated Reporter Training Certificate (expires 01/19/26).

Children were sleeping during inspection and LPAs were unable to check smoke and carbon monoxide.. Licensee will call LPA via Facetime on 08/21/24 at 10:00am.

Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.

Licensee was informed of the MyChildCare.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain child care by connecting them to child care providers and Resources and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California.
During the exit interview Licensee Duran, confirmed that there are no Registered Sex Offenders living in the facility and LPA completed the RSO profile in FAS.

A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the Licensee, Duran.
