32 | Snack menus were reviewed to ensure that they are being posted at least one week in advance and visible to an authorized representative. The facility provides breakfast and lunch and some parents bring their children's lunches. There is drinking water available in all indoor classrooms and children bring their own bottles to refill. Trash receptacles have tight fitting covers on and are in good repair. Disinfectants, cleaning solutions, poisons and other items that are dangerous to children are inaccessible. Facility has one or more functioning carbon monoxide detectors that meet statutory requirements.
Outdoor play equipment was observed to be in good condition, free of sharp, loose or pointed parts. Outdoor activity space surface is maintained in a safe condition as is free of hazards. Areas around and/or under climbing equipment, cushioning material (mat) to absorb a fall. The Director states that there are no bodies of water on the premises and LPA did not observe any bodies of water during this inspection.
LPA reviewed sign in and out forms to ensure children are being signed in and out. LPA conducted Children's Records Review to ensure children have Identification and Emergency forms, Immunization records, Health History, Personal Rights and Parents Rights on file.
Staff Records were reviewed to ensure that appropriate documentation of education credits is on file. Criminal Records Clearance for adults. Verification of CPR/First Aid and health preventative practices documentation will be reviewed at a later date. LPA was unable to view Staff #3 at this time and will review at a later date to verify education requirement. LPA did observe proof of immunization against pertussis and measles and influenza for a flu declination. These were readily available during today's inspection. LPA advised Director Hendle to audit children's files for dates and miscellaneous information. LPA also informed Director All staff will need to renew their Mandated reporter training as it expires after two years. LPA provided website for Mandated Reporter Training renewal.
Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see Evaluator Manual - Regulation Interpretations and Procedures for Child Care Centers Sections 101173 and 101226. When any IMS is provided, an updated Plan of Operation that includes IMS must be submitted to the Department.
