An unannounced Required 1 Year Inspection was conducted by Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) A. Lucero. LPA met with licensees Oscar & Gloria Cortez. Licensee Oscar Cortez guided LPA on a tour of the facility. This is a single story, four bedroom, two bathroom home. Adults residing and present in the home have been noted.
At about 12:05pm, LPA began a tour of the home. Per Licensee, areas on-limits to children are living room, hallway bathroom, and back yard. Areas off-limits are four bedrooms, master bathroom, side dog kennel area, detached garage, and front yard. LPA observed at bout 12:12pm that the day care area has a fireplace with barricade to prevent children from gaining access.
Records review began at 12:37pm. CPR certificates provide on the date of inspection were conducted by an American Red Cross Instructor; however, the certificates have expired in March 2020. The licensee and other personnel as specified shall complete training on preventive health practices, including pediatric cardiopulmonary resuscitation and pediatric first aid, pursuant to Health and Safety Code Section 1596.866. This is a potential risk to children in care. LPA also observed at about 12:40pm that child #1 an #2 did not have a file for review. Technical Violation was given on this date regarding child files. Child Care Roster, Disaster Plan, Disaster Drills were reviewed. Licensees have not done the Mandated Reporter training. Technical Violations were issued on this date.
Licensees state that there are no weapons or firearms on the premises. LPA did not observe swimming pools or spas on the premises. The backyard is adequately fenced. There are age appropriate toys and equipment on the premises. The smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors are present in the facility and are in operational condition. |
