Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Veronica Martinez Garza conducted an unannounced Annual/Random inspection at the above facility on 10/15/24 at 09:40 am. LPA met with Belia Sanchez, licensee who guided LPA on a tour of the facility. There were 05 children present during this inspection. Also present was the licensee’s assistant’s Minerva Sanchez and Elvia Guzman. Per licensee, 11 children are enrolled. Operation hours are Monday through Friday 06:00am – 06:00pm.
This is a one-story home which consists of 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, living room, dining room, kitchen, den (converted to a playroom), front yard (fenced), side yard, and back yard (fenced). Areas accessible to children include living room, den, 1 bathroom, and side yard (fenced) for play. Areas off limits to children and parents include entire 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, dining, kitchen, front yard (fenced) and back yard (fenced). Per licensee, family members residing in the home are 4 adults and 0 minors. Licensee stated there are 2 dogs on the premises. All individuals present in the home have obtained a criminal record clearance or exemption prior to working, residing, or volunteering in a licensed home and are identified on the attached LIC811.
LPA toured all areas identified on the facility sketch used by children during this visit and were inspected for safety, comfort, and cleanliness. Tour began in the living room where LPA observed furniture. Licensee stated that only in the morning’s children have access to the living room and later move to the back den for activities. Children walk through the kitchen to access the den. LPA observed the den has cots, play pens, feeding chairs, age-appropriate toys, materials, and equipment. LPA observed that the play pens are free from loose articles and objects. There are no objects hanging above or attached to the side of the play pens. LPA observed that the play pens do not hinder the entrance or exit to and from the space they are sleeping in. Mattresses were observed to be firm and covered with a fitted sheet that is appropriate to the mattress size. Children use the bathroom located in the den and was observed to be in safe and in sanitary conditions. There’s also a first aid kit readily available.
