25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) R. Derraco conducted an unannounced required 1 year inspection to the above facility on 10/28/21. LPA arrived at the facility at 9:30 AM and met with licensee, Catherine Scott, who guided analyst on a tour of the facility. Also present during this inspection were two assistants, S2 and S3. Per Licensee, there are 10 children that are currently enrolled. There were 10 children present upon arrival (2 infants and 8 toddlers). At 10:30 AM, LPA observed A1 arriving to the home.
This is a one story home which consists of 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, kitchen/dining area, living room, office, laundry area, front yard, back yard (fenced). LPA observed an off-limits guest house in the back yard area. Licensee states that guest house is used by A2 as a music studio. Additional off limit areas include 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, front yard, and part of the back yard. The main care area is located in the living room. LPA observed age appropriate toys and materials, a couch, wall mounted television, and a children's book shelf. Additional age appropriate toys and materials were observed in a second area of the home across from the main care area. LPA observed a baby changing table and a smoke alarm. LPA observed the smoke alarm to be operable. A bedroom was observed to be converted into an infant room. LPA observed 3 Lakeshore Metal Hotel Crib, item # CRIB, to each have a mattress with a clean fitted sheet. LPA observed the kitchen area to have a child sized table and child sized chairs. Locks were observed on the kitchen cabinet beneath the sink. No sharp objects were observed to be accessible in the kitchen area. Per licensee, cleaning products are stored underneath the locked kitchen sink. A carbon monoxide detector was observed on the wall in the kitchen. A sliding door was observed towards the back of the kitchen leading to the off limits office. A second door was observed next to the laundry appliances leading to an off limits bedroom. The backyard play area is being used for outdoor play. LPA observed hanging plants, a table designated for arts and crafts, and a water fountain. Per licensee, she no longer uses the water fountain. Instead she provides drinking water to children in care by designated cups. Three plastic storage sheds were observed to have locks. Shade is provided by a wooden awning over the arts and craft area.
