Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Crystal Green conducted an unannounced required 1 year inspection. LPA met with Lead Teacher, Aimee Tobola who guided analyst on tour of facility. Also present during this inspection was Site Director, Jaytiana Blackwood. This is a school-age program that operates Monday to Friday from 7am to 6pm.

This facility is located on the campus of La Canada Elementary School. This program is currently licensed to use classroom 35 and 36. The licensee has requested to temporarily use classroom 24 due to the recent rain damages causes to the roof in classroom 36. This will be a temporary change until June 2, 2023, or until classroom 36 is fully repaired. LPA observed classroom 36 to not be in use. No children were observed in the classroom. During this inspection, LPA inspected classroom 24 to ensure that it contains age-appropriate furniture and equipment. The classroom was observed to be in compliance. Classrooms are centrally heated and air conditioned. Children will use the elementary school's restrooms.

The designated isolation area will be the Directors Office located in the front entrance. Parents will be called immediately if children become sick. Ill children will use the staff restroom. The facility provides afternoon snacks.

Children uses the elementary school playground which offers room for a variety of outdoor sports and games. Required shade was observed outdoors. Elementary playground restrooms will be used by children.
No transportation will be conducted by the facility.

Staff Records were not reviewed during this inspection. Staff files are maintained at the licensee HR main office located in La Canada, CA 91011. Children’s Records were reviewed to ensure that Identification and Emergency form and a medical assessment are on file.

This facility provides Incidental Medical Services – IMS. LPA reviewed storage of medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children’s, personnel, and administrative records. At this time, the licensee is in compliance with California Title 22 Regulations. The licensee request to temporarily utilize classroom 24 has been approved. No measurements were obtained during this inspection. Licensee understands to notify the department of any additional changes or if temporary used space will need to be extended.

A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Failure to comply with posting requirements shall result in an immediate civil penalty of $100.
