25 | On 3/13/20 at 12:30 PM Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Mayra Rivera and Warren Birks conducted an unannounced annual required Inspection. LPAs met with Center Director Elvia Rodriguez who guided the LPAs on a tour facility. All areas identified on the facility sketch were inspected. The facility is preschool with an toddler component program operating 6:30 am to 6:00 pm Monday thru Friday. Preschool program serves children ages three to five years old and Toddler program serves 18 to 36 months. LPAs observed the following classrooms: Toddler Room One staff and 6 napping toddlers; Preschool Room 19 children with two teachers and Pre K Room with 11 children and one Teacher.
PHYSICAL PLANT- Disinfectants, cleaning solutions, medication and other items that are dangerous to children, were inaccessible to children. Director Elvia stated items are stored in a cabinet in each of the classrooms which were inaccessible. Furniture and equipment are in good condition, free of sharp, loose, or pointed parts. All floors are clean and safe. There were cubbies observed as storage for children's belongings. Mats/cots/cushion padding were inspected and are in good condition. Per Director, linens and blankets are provided by parents and taken home weekly. Availability of drinking water was reviewed. Age appropriate sinks and toilets were inspected in good repair, water, toilet paper, area safety and sanitation. LPAs observed toys to be clean and age appropriate.
Snack menus were reviewed and per Director parents provide lunches and facility provides an AM and PM snack. Kitchen areas/food preparation areas and food storage areas are kept clean and are free of litter, rubbish and rodents and/or any other vermin. All storage containers for solid waste, including moveable bins shall have tight-fitting covers that are kept on, and in good repair. Trash cans used to discard food have tight fitting lids. Drinking water is readily available both indoors and outdoors. The facility was observed to be free of flies, other insects and rodents.
