32 | Incidental Medical Services (IMS). Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. The facility is providing IMS Services however there is no IMS Plan on file. This was discussed with Site Director, Maria Luisa Moreno. A review of the medication policy, including administering, labeling, storage, and records was made. For IMS information see Evaluator Manual - Regulation Interpretations and Procedures for Child Care Centers Sections 101173 and 101226. A Plan of Operation that includes IMS must be submitted to the Department. During the review of the medication, LPA observed that Child #1 who was terminated in June 26, 2018, still had their medication at the facility. Child #4 who was terminated on July 20, 2018 still had their medication at the facility. Facility failed to return Child #1 medication to the children parents, once the children were no longer attending the program. Facility failed to dispose of the medication or return the medication to the children's authorize representative. A Type B deficiency is being cited on the LIC 809-D page.
AB1207: This is a reminder that, As of January 1, 2018, Health & Safety Code 1596.8662 requires all licensed providers, applicants, directors and employees to complete training as specified on their mandated reporter duties and to renew their training every two years. New employees shall have 90 days from date of employment to complete training as required. The training may be met by using the Department’s Office of Child Abuse Prevention (OCAP) online training modules at: http://www.mandatedreporterca.com/.
LPA observed that 7 out of 8 Staff members present did not have proof of the AB1207 Mandated Reporter training certificate during this inspection. A Type B deficiency is being cited on the LIC 809-D page.
LPA advised that no children shall be left without the supervision, including visual supervision, of a teacher at any time. LPA advised to access forms, regulations and quarterly updates on the Child Care Licensing website at: www.ccld.ca.gov.
