25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Judy Mora conducted an unannounced Annual/random inspection. LPA met with licensee's, Julia & Monica Gonzalez, who guided analyst on a tour of the facility. There were 12 children present, 2 being infants. Licensee states that there are currently 17 children enrolled, children's roster was reviewed and is current. Disaster drill log was available, last drill documented was August 6 & August 13, 2019.
This is a one story home which consists of 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, kitchen, living room (FIREPLACE: inaccessible), dining room, detached garage which is an activity space for the day care but is not currently being used. There is a detached bedroom and backyard which is (fenced). The backyard is split into 2 areas with a gate, giving children access to only one area. The children use the bathroom in the hallway and 1 restroom outdoors, living room, dining room, kitchen area, 3 bedrooms that are in the main house and backyard for play. Per licensee, areas off limits to children and parents include: detached bedroom, licensee's bathroom. The LPA toured all areas used by children during this visit.
Areas accessible to children were inspected to ensure that they are clean and orderly with ventilation and heating (central) for safety and comfort. There is a working telephone service maintained in the home. Family members residing in the home are 4 adults (criminal record clearances on file). There are 2 dogs that are kept both indoor and outdoors and a rabbit that is kept in the grass area in the backyard. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medications, and other items which can pose a danger to children are inaccessible in all areas of the home. The licensee states that there are no poisons in the home. The licensee does understand that poison must be locked with a key or combination lock.
Per licensee, there are no weapons, firearms or bodies of water on the premises. There were safe toys, play equipment and materials observed for children. Emergency Disaster Plan was observed to be posted at the time of visit. LPA requested an updated copy for the facility file.
