25 | A RANDOM INSPECTION CONDUCTED IN SPANISH Licensing Program Analyst, Janeth Chavez conducted an unannounced annual random site inspection to ensure the health & safety standards as required by regulations governing family child care homes. Upon arrival, LPA met with Licensee, Ana Duran and toured the facility. There are 7 children (2 infants) present and two adults (licensee & Francisca Flores, assistant). Individuals residing in the home are the licensee, spouse and 2 adult sons and no children. Licensee’s operating hours are Monday-Friday 7am-6pm. All individuals present and living in the home have a Criminal Record clearance on file. Licensee’s Liability Insurance for a Family Child Care home expires on 03/14/2020.
The home is a one story, 3-Bed, 1 Bath home. The following areas are used for day-care: Living Room, Dining Room, 1 bedroom, hallway bathroom, and backyard (fenced). LPA observed a play structure with cushioning material to absorb a fall in the backyard (fenced). Off limit areas include: Licensee’s bedroom, back bedroom, kitchen, front yard (unfenced), detached garage, and dwelling adjacent to the garage. Licensee stated that the children nap in the living room area and eat in the dining room. LPA inspected the bathroom use by day care children and did not observe any hazards. Licensee was advised to keep all off-limit areas inaccessible to day care children. LPA observed a plastic safety gate to make the kitchen inaccessible.
LPA observed children’s napping beds in the living room. Licensee stated that the parents use the front door to drop off and pick up children. Licensee stated there are 4 infants enrolled in her family child care home. Report Continues on next page 1 of 3
