32 | The center capacity maximum is licensed for 98 children. LPA took a census during the first visit on 11/21/2019. The facility had 80 children in care on the first visit to center. There were 13 staff present with 80 children upon arrival. This center has 6 operating classrooms. Classroom #3 (2 teachers, 13 children (3.5-4 yrs. old), Classroom #4 (2 teachers, 14 children (4 yrs. old), Classroom #5-(2 teachers, 14 children (4 yrs. old) Classroom #6 (3 teachers, 11 children, (2 & 3 yrs. old), Classroom #7 (2 teachers, 14 children (early 3 yrs.), and Classroom #8 -(2 teachers, 14 children – (4 yrs. old) - capacity 80. Teacher-child ratios were observed to be in accordance with Title 22 Regulations. All children were observed to be under visual supervision of a teacher during my inspection.
The center sometimes has special events at which time they bring all of the children together with all of the centers staff. For example: The center will have special events, special holiday celebrations, Program for parents, and nature walks.
LPA Chambers obtained information regarding the centers cleaning schedule. The center has custodians that work every day. One custodian in the AM from 6am - 2:30pm and one in the PM 4:30pm to 6:00PM. The custodians clean every classroom, clean floors, and restrooms, and all other areas of the facility inside and outside. LPA observed the custodians cleaning during each inspection and specifically noted the bathrooms and floors were being cleaned during my visit. The complaint mentioned that there was a staff member named Myra. LPA obtained information that stated there is not a staff member named Myra that works at this center. LPA Chambers attempted to reach the anonymous reporting party to discuss details of the complaint but could not be reached.
Based on interviews conducted and information obtained, the allegation regarding ratio/ operating out of ratio is Unsubstantiated. Although the allegation may have happened or is valid, there is not a preponderance of evidence to prove the alleged violation did or did not occur, therefore these allegations are unsubstantiated.
