25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Warren Birks conducted an unannounced Case Management Lead Testing exceedance inspection on February 8, 2023. LPA Birks met with Assistant Director Molly Northrup who guided LPA on a tour of the facility. There were 84 children and 11 staff present during the inspection.
The purpose of today's inspection is to review and discuss the December 10, 2022 water lead test results received on January 5, 2023. The results indicate that two water sources had action level exceedance of lead. The drinking fountain in the teacher's lounge and the drinking fountain in the learning adventures room.
Assistant Director Northrup informed LPA Birks that both fountains were not used by children and the learning adventure room fountain was turned off prior to testing due to covid. She also indicated that the plumbing fixtures have since been replaced and the faucet needs to be flushed. The facility keeps the faucet covered with plastic so it is inaccessible to staff and children. Note: all other water sources had passing levels.
At approximately 2:00pm LPA Birks took pictures of the drinking fountains. No deficiency was cited as the fountains were not in use by children. LPA did issue a technical advisory violation to ensure that the water fixture noted will not be used as a drinking source for children until mitigated. However, there are no deficiencies cited during today's inspection.
