25 | At 1:12PM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Steven Tung conducted an unannounced annual inspection. A risk assessment was conducted prior to entering the facility. Due to COVID- 19 precautionary measures were taken, licensing staff present during inspection wore appropriate personal protective equipment. LPA met with licensee Wai Kong who guided analysts on a tour of the facility. There were 2 infants present and the Licensee states that there is currently 2 infants enrolled. Per Licensee, the facility has had 2 infants enrolled since January 2022 and up to 5 children ages 1-3 years old before January 2022.
Family members residing in the home are 3 adults (criminal record clearances on file). This is a one-story home which consists of 4 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, kitchen, dining room, living room, play room, garage, and backyard (fenced). The infants use the living room for eating and the play room. Per licensee, areas off limits to children and parents include: all 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, kitchen, dining room, living room, back yard (fenced), and garage. The LPA toured all areas used by children during this visit.
Areas accessible to children were inspected to ensure that they are clean and orderly with ventilation and heating for safety and comfort. There were safe toys, play equipment and materials observed for children. There is a working telephone service maintained in the home. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medications, and other items which can pose a danger to children are made inaccessible. Licensee states that there are no poisons in the home. The licensee does understand that poison must be locked with a key or combination lock.
