Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Crystal Green conducted an unannounced required 1 year inspection. Licensing staff met with Director of Operations, Korina Navarro. Also present during the inspection was Head of School Martha Georgie. The hours of operation are from Monday through Friday from 7:45AM – 5:30PM.

This is a preschool program with toddler option which consists of total of (3) classrooms. Preschool program consists of (2) classrooms, named Tawny Owls and Snowy Owls. The toddler option program consists of 1 classroom called the Barn Owls.

The following was observed during the tour of the facility: Tawny Owls classroom was observed to have 19 preschoolers conducting play activities with 4 staff. Snowy Owls classroom was also observed doing play activities with 18 preschoolers and 3 staff. The Barn Owls was observed to have 8 toddlers with 2 staff. Teacher-child ratios were observed. All children were observed by licensing staff to be under visual supervision of a teacher at all times

Licensing staff observed the facility to be clean, safe, sanitary and in good repair. Furniture and equipment were inspected for good repair, free of sharp, loose, or pointed parts. All indoor classrooms were inspected to ensure that the floors have a surface that is safe and clean. All toilets and hand washing facilities are in safe and sanitary operating conditions. The children's restrooms are located inside the classroom. There is drinking water accessible to the children in care via personal sippy cups and water cooler. At this time, the main office is used as an isolation area. Parents are contacted immediately when children are determined to be ill and staff are ensuring that children with obvious symptoms of illness are not being accepted.

Children's lunches are brought from home and kept in cubbies. The facility provides am and pm snacks. Snack menus are located on a bulletin board at the entrance of the facility.

All kitchen areas/food preparation areas and food storage areas are kept clean and are free of litter, rubbish and rodents and/or any other vermin. Cabinets are available for storage. Facility has one or more functioning carbon monoxide detectors that meet statutory requirements.

There are two separate playgrounds for preschool and toddlers. LPA inspected both playgrounds and the outdoor equipment for safety, cushioning material, good repair and age appropriateness. Required shade and fencing were inspected. No hazards were observed. Outdoor drinking water is available in form of water jugs and personal water bottles.

Staff Records were reviewed to ensure that a health screening report is on file. Children’s Records were reviewed to ensure that Identification and Emergency form and a medical assessment are on file. Criminal Records Clearance for adults and verification of CPR/First Aid and health preventative practices documentation was reviewed.

This facility provides Incidental Medical Services – IMS. LPA reviewed storage of medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children’s, personnel, and administrative records. At this time, the licensee is in compliance with California Title 22 Regulations. Therefore, there are no citations being issued today.


Exit interview was conducted with Facility Representatives. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Failure to comply with posting requirements shall result in an immediate civil penalty of $100.
