Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Warren Birks conducted an unannounced annual required inspection. LPA met with Licensee Lillian Henriquez who guided LPA on a tour of the facility. Also present was Licensee's cleared assistants who were helping to care for 13 children (2 infants, 2 school age, 9 preschool). There are currently 14 children enrolled. The children's roster is current. Disaster drill log was also available during today’s inspection. Last drill conducted on June 24th, 2021.
This is a one story home which consists three bedrooms and two bathrooms. Areas used by the children include the living room, family room, converted garage (no eating or sleeping), one restroom, and front yard. Licensee indicated that the backyard is not used for daycare at this time. LPA informed Licensee to contact the department if she wants to make any changes to the home. Per Licensee, areas off limits areas to children and parents include: backyard, three bedrooms, and one bathroom.
Areas accessible to children were inspected to ensure that they are clean and orderly with ventilation and heating for the safety of the children. There is a working telephone maintained in the home. Licensee has two small pet dogs that are kept away from the day-care children. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medications, and other items which can pose a danger to children are inaccessible. LPA informed Licensee that poisons and must be locked with a key or combination lock.
Per Licensee, there are no weapons or bodies of water on the premises. Occasionally they will use a small blow up pool. LPA informed Licensee to empty water after pool use. Safe toys, play equipment and materials were observed. LPA observed the Emergency Disaster Plan, Parents Rights and License posted. Children’s records were reviewed to ensure that each child has an Identification and Emergency form, Immunizations and Personal Rights documentation. |
