An unannounced Annual Random Inspection was conducted by Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) A. Lucero and E. Chavez. LPAs met with licensee Carol Galvez who guided LPA on a tour of the facility. This is a two story, six bedroom, three bathroom home. Currently residing in the home are three adults (Licensee, spouse, and adult male child) and no minors. Present at the facility was licensee's spouse and assistant who were helping to provide care and supervision to the children in care.
Areas accessible to children were inspected as follows: Living room, TV area, dining area, kitchen, one bedroom used for day care purposes, back yard, one bathroom.
Areas off limits include: Five bedrooms (two downstairs near the bathroom, three bedrooms located in the newly added portion of the home), two bathrooms located in the newly added portion of the home, and front yard.
LPA observed that the home is currently under construction as the licensee has added the three bedrooms and two bathrooms which is off-limits to children. Licensee stated she notified the department of the construction that started four years ago. LPAs toured the additional rooms and bathrooms and observed the door leading to the additional rooms was locked to deter children from gaining access. LPA advised licensee to submit a new Facility Sketch and Yard Sketch with the new addition to the home.
Licensee states that there are no weapons or firearms on the premises. LPA did not observe swimming pools or spas on the premises. The backyard is adequately fenced. There are age appropriate toys and equipment on the premises. The smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors are present in the facility and in operational condition. Fire extinguisher has been serviced in August 2019. |
