25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Franchesca White arrived at the above facility for the purpose of a Lead Exceedance - Case Management visit. LPA White announced the purpose of the visit, and was granted entry into the facility by Breanna Ansorge. There were 46 children present and 10 staff members. All staff have current criminal background clearance.
LPA White reviewed new assembly Bill (AB) 2370, Chapter 676, Statues of 2018, which requires the testing for lead in Child Care Centers (CCCs) with facility Director, Breanna Ansorge during the inspection. Per AB2370, all CCCs that are located in buildings constructed before January 1, 2010, must have their water tested and post the results by January 1, 2023, and every 5 years after the date of the first testing.
Facility provided a copy of the report that covers the analysis performed on the sample submitted to Terra Environmental as follows: Corrective Actions for Lead Exceedance in the Munchkins classroom (Faucet A). The written directives for Lead testing of Water in licensed child care centers (document PIN 21-21-CCP) were implemented and the Munchkins water fountain was replaced with approved Lead-free fixtures and follow up correction actions were taken to lower Lead levels below 5 ug/l.
The newly installed cold-water faucet was conditioned for 21 days per 101705 follow0up Corrective Action Water Sampling instructions and Re-sampled on October 31, 2022, by Mr. Jesus Osuna, CDPH Lead Sampling Technician #LRC-00010273 of Terra Environmental Services, Inc. The samples were submitted for laboratory analysis to LA Testing for a7-day turnaround (TAT). After testing and flushing of faucet A, the lead level was <1.00 ug/l. The sample collected at the Munchkins Room (Faucet A) meets the requirements of AB 2370 and no other actions are recommended at the time.
