LPA observed labels and dates on all food, including dishes and bottles that are brought from home for proper storage. Trash cans used to discard food have tight fitting lids. Outdoor playground equipment is in a safe condition, free of sharp, lose or pointed parts. The surface of the outdoor activity space is maintained in a safe condition and is free of hazards. All areas around or under climbing equipment, slides, and similar equipment are cushioned with material that absorbs a fall. There is adequate shade in the play yard. Availability of outdoor drinking water was observed. All floors were observed to be clean and safe. All materials accessible to infants were observed to be toxic-free There are no firearms stored on the premises. There are no pools or bodies of water at the facility. Infant Records were reviewed. The name, address, and telephone number of child’s authorized representative is on file. Inspection of required forms was made and documented on the LIC 857. Infant Needs and Services Plan are on file for each infant. LPA discussed the Individual Infant Sleeping Plan (LIC 9227) for infants 0 – 12 months and provided an example. LPA was unable to review staff records during this inspection. The staff records are stored at a main facility located at 2501 Cherry Avenue, #350, Signal Hill, CA 90755. LPA observed that the facility has a current updated infant sleeping log available that notes the time of each 15-minute check, date, infant’s name, initials of staff person conducting each check. LPA observed that infant staff are checking sleeping infants for labored breathing, signs of distress, and position. LPA discussed Provider Information Notice (PIN) 20-24 CCP: Approved Safe Sleep Regulations in Effect, and Infant Safe Sleep FAQs. Children's roster was reviewed and is current. This center utilizes and application Care Connect for Sign-In and Sign-Out. LPA reviewed today’s sign-in/sign-out. Children present were signed in. Disaster drill log was available, last drill was conducted on 01/08/2025. First Aid supplies were observed in the classroom in a bin. According to Site supervisor, medication is only administered to a child when accompanied with a doctor's note and is stored in the office. Site Supervisor was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. |
