25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPAs) Warren Birks and Anthony Padilla conducted an unannounced Required - 3 Year inspection. LPA met with Licensee Elizabeth Padilla who guided LPA on a tour of the facility. Upon arrival, LPA observed Licensee and cleared assistant providing care for three non daycare children. Note: Licensee indicated they provide after school care and there are two children enrolled attending after-school. Individuals residing in the home were noted. The children's roster is updated. The Licensee indicated she has a foster License from DCFS.
At approximately 1:15pm LPA conducted an inspection of all areas of the facility sketch. This is a two story home which consists of three bedrooms and two bathrooms. Areas used by the children include the living room, downstairs restroom, and dining area. The garage (activity room) is not in use at this time. Per Licensee, areas off limits to children and parents include: one bedroom, one restroom, and kitchen.
Areas accessible to children were inspected to ensure that they are clean and orderly with ventilation and heating for the safety of the children. There is a working telephone maintained in the home. Licensee has no pets at this time. LPA advised Licensee to provide extra care and supervision for all outdoor play as the facility is near an alley way. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medications, and other items which can pose a danger to children are inaccessible at this time. LPA reminded Licensee to provide extra care and supervision for all outdoor play. Licensee was also reminded to ensure that all medicines, chemicals, cleaners, paints, sharp objects, grills, propane, and similar hazardous items must be inaccessible at all times. Poisons must also be locked with a key or combination lock.
Fire arms and pool regulations were discussed. Per Licensee there are no bodies of water and LPA did not observe any at this time. The License, Parents Rights Poster, and Earthquake Preparedness was posted. The valve on the required 2A 10BC fire extinguisher is missing a date of purchase or service within one year. Smoke and carbon monoxide detectors in the living room were tested and are in operable condition. |
