25 | On October 10, 2024, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Monique Ayala conducted an unannounced Annual/Random inspection at the above facility. A COVID-19 risk assessment was conducted prior to entering the facility. Upon arrival LPA Ayala was greeted by licensee, Nancy Gell who guided LPA on a tour of the facility. Also present in the home was licensee's assistant Satbhajan who is fingerprint cleared and associated to the facility. LPA observed 9 children in care. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 9AM to 5PM.
The facility is a two-story home which consists of two bedrooms, three bathrooms, kitchen, living room, enclosed front porch, front and backyard (fenced). There is also a day care activity room directly behind the house which is detached, which is used for dramatic play. The children use the bathroom adjacent to the kitchen. Per Licensee, the second floor is the only area designated as off limits to children and parents. All areas used by children were toured during this inspection.
Licensee's poisons, detergent, cleaning compounds, medications and other items which could pose a danger to child are stored where they are inaccessible to children. LPA observed working smoke detector and Carbon Monoxide, fully charged fire extinguisher, and working telephone.
There are several age-appropriate toys and a first aid kit on the premises. Per the licensee, there are no firearms on the premises. Licensee has current First Aid and CPR, expires 04/03/2025.
LPA reviewed children files; files were found to be complete. LPA reviewed staff files; files were found to be complete. Children and staff names were documented on LIC811 (confidential page).
