25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Mireya García conducted an unannounced annual required inspection. Due to COVID- 19 precautionary measures were taken, licensing staff present during inspection wore appropriate personal protective equipment. LPA met with licensee, Nancy Gell who guided analyst on a tour of the facility both indoors and outdoors. There were no children present during this inspection. Per Licensee, children did not attend day care today due to rain and possible close contact COVID exposure. Licensee states that there are currently 15 children enrolled, per Licensee not all children attend at the same time.
Licensee states she is the only adult living in the home there are no family members or children residing.
The facility is a two-story home which consists of two bedrooms, three bathrooms, kitchen, living room, enclosed front porch, front and backyard (fenced). There is also a day care activity room directly behind the house which is detached, which is used for dramatic play. The children use the bathroom adjacent to the kitchen. Per Licensee, the second floor is the only area designated as off limits to children and parents. All areas used by children were toured during this inspection.
During this tour, the following was noted: At 9:00 a.m., LPA was toured through the interior of the home. Areas accessible to children were inspected to ensure that they are clean and orderly with ventilation and heating for safety and comfort. There were safe toys, play equipment and materials observed for children. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medications, and other items which can pose a danger to children are inaccessible. The licensee states that there are no poisons in the home. The licensee does understand that poisons must be locked with a key or combination lock.
