25 | Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Lissete Gonzalez and Jennifer Anguiano conducted an unannounced Annual Random site inspection to ensure the health & safety standards as required by regulations governing family child care homes. Upon arrival, LPA met with Licensee, Marta Elias, who guided LPA on a tour of the facility. Additional individuals residing in the home include Licensee’s Adult Daughter and minor Granddaughter. There were 7 children present during the inspection, 3 being infants. Per Licensee, there are 12 children enrolled. The facility roster was reviewed and is current. Licensee’s operating hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. from Monday through Friday.
This is a two-story home which consists of 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, kitchen, living room, garage, front and backyard (fenced). The children use one bathroom, one bedroom, living room, kitchen area and front yard for play. Per licensee, areas off limits to children and parents include: 2nd floor, 3 bedrooms, licensee's bathroom and detached garage. The LPA toured all areas used by children during this visit.
There are no firearms, poisons, or bodies of water present on the premises as stated by Licensee. LPAs inspected the living room used by children. There are adequate age appropriate toys, books, and games. No hazards or violations were observed. There is proper ventilation through the home provided through a portable air and heating unit located in the living room. The dining room used by the children was inspected. No hazards of violations were observed. Knives, sharp objects, detergents, and cleaning compounds are stored in the laundry room located within the kitchen are of the home. LPAs observed a child safety gate at the entrance to the laundry area. The bedroom used by the children was inspected for safety and cleanliness. No hazards or violations were observed. LPAs inspected the bathroom used by the children. No hazards or violations observed. There are electrical outlet covers throughout and a First Aid Kit is available. The outdoor play area was inspected for safety. LPAs observed the outdoor play area to be fully fenced and there were age appropriate toys and equipment available to children in care.
