32 | LPA observed a child gate placed next to the bedroom door, but all the bedroom doors were closed.
The home was inspected for safety, comfort, cleanliness, telephone service, heating and ventilation, inaccessibility to poisons, detergents, cleaning compounds, medicines, and hazardous items that can pose a danger to children. As Licensee stated that she does transport the day-care children, ( twice a week during afternoon session only) uses a 17 passenger Chevy van with three car- seats and three booster seats.
Licensee provides two meals and snacks and is enrolled with Angles food program.
Posting requirements are posted at the entrance of the home on the side bulletin board.
Per Licensee, there are no firearms or weapons on the premises. The home has central air and heat and optimal temperature was maintained in the home. Licensee does not administer any medications to the enrolled children if needed the parents come in to the home and administer the required medication to the child.
Licensee has a fire extinguisher, size 2-A:10-B:C, which is mounted on a wall in the kitchen; it is serviced annually in 4/2019. There are smoke detectors in the home installed in the ceiling of every room while the ; carbon monoxide detector is mounted in the hallway, it was tested and is operable. The home is kept clean and orderly, with heating and ventilation for safety and comfort.
Licensee and the assistant providing care and supervision to children are current on the required Pediatric and CPR certification valid through 3/2020, all immunization's (MMR/ Tdap/ Flu) are current and both have completed the Child Abuse Mandated Reporting training. ( Records reviewed)
Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see Evaluator Manual - Regulation Interpretations and Procedures for Family Child Care Homes Section 102417. The following were discussed: Individuals who are 18 years of age or older living in the home must be finger print cleared prior to being in the presence of the children in care. Individuals within one month of their 18th birthday must be fingerprinted immediately. No smoking, No infant walkers, No Johnny jumpers, No exersaucers and any other item that falls into that category be on the premises. Discussed disaster drills, posting requirements, children records requirements, mandated child abuse training and injury/ death reporting, criminal records clearance, child abuse clearance, and criminal records transfer requirements. |
