25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) R. Derraco conducted an unannounced required one-year inspection to the above facility on 09/22/23. LPA arrived at the facility at 9:00 AM and met with licensee, Ruth Ruiz, who guided analyst on a tour of the facility. Also present during this inspection was S2. Per Licensee, there are seven children that are currently enrolled. There were no children in care upon arrival.
This is a two-story home which consists of 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, kitchen/dining room, living room, garage, front yard and backyard (fenced). The off limit areas include 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, kitchen, garage and front yard.
The main care area is located in the living room. LPA observed a wall mounted television, couches, book shelf, child sized tables, child sized chairs, educational posters, age appropriate toys and children's reading material. A fire place with a cover was observed in the main care area. Per licensee, she currently has lock removed from fire place cover because she does not have any children in care. Emergency Disaster Plan, Parent’s Rights Poster and the Facility License were observed to be posted in the main care area. The dining area was observed with a dining table and chairs. The licensee states that she provides food for children in care. The bathroom designated for children was observed to be clean with an operable sink, faucet and toilet. LPA did not observe a gate at the entrance of the stairs, however licensee states that she only has 1 child enrolled under the age of 5 and that child is currently not in care. Licensee states that she also has a tension gate for the kitchen that is put up when the child is in attendance. The outdoor play area is located in the back yard. LPA observed the outdoor play area to have perimeter fencing, adequate shade, a lemon tree, and children's outdoor play equipment. Licensee states that she has not let the children play in the outdoor play area for about a week but cleans the play area before each use. LPA did not observe the following items during the inspection: Infant Walkers, Johnny Jumpers, Saucer Chairs. Per licensee, isolation area for children showing signs of illness will be located in the living room on the couch while the child awaits (page 1 of 3) |
