32 | At this time, the center manager's office is used as an isolation area. There are chairs in the office. Parents are contacted immediately when children are determined to be ill.
Snack menus were reviewed to ensure that they are being posted at least one week in advance and visible to an authorized representative. The facility provides AM snack, lunch and PM snack. LPA observed that bottles, dishes, and containers of food brought by the infant’s authorized representatives are labeled with the infant’s name and current date. All storage containers for solid waste, including moveable bins, have tight fitting covers on and are in good repair. Disinfectants and cleaning solutions, that are dangerous to children were stored under a sink in an area accessible to infants, diapering area in Pod 1. Facility has one or more functioning carbon monoxide detectors that meet statutory requirements. The licensee takes measures to keep the facility free of flies, other insects and rodents.
Outdoor play equipment was observed to be in good condition, free of sharp, loose or pointed parts. Outdoor activity space surface is maintained in a safe condition as is free of hazards. Areas around and/or under climbing equipment and slides have rubber cushioning material to absorb a fall. LPA's did not observe any accessible drinking water for children outdoors. Center Manager states that there are no bodies of water on the premises and LPA's did not observe any bodies of water during this visit. Per Center Manager, there are no weapons or firearms on the premises.
Sign in and out sheets were reviewed to ensure that children present are signed in. Children’s Records were reviewed to ensure that each child has a separate, complete, and current record, a Needs and Services Plan, and a medical assessment are on file.
The staff records will be reviewed at a later date.
This facility provides Incidental Medical Services – IMS. LPA reviewed storage of medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children’s, personnel, and administrative records. LPAs observed medication in an emergency backpack in Pod 1 that had no label, LPAs also observed this for Pod 4.
