An unannounced Required Inspection was conducted by Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) A. Lucero and A. Gontarek. LPAs met with licensee Josefina Hanna who guided LPAs on a tour of the facility. This is a two story, five bedroom, three bathroom home. Per licensee, currently residing in the home are two adults (Licensee and spouse) and no minors. Licensee's husband was present in the off-limits upstairs bedroom not providing care.
Present in the home was licensee's assistant Edith Hernandez who was observed to be providing care and supervision to children in care. LPAs determined that Edith Hernandez is not fingerprinted and has been working at the facility for over a month. This is an immediate risk to children in care. A civil penalty was assessed on this date.
Areas accessible to children were inspected as follows: One bedroom located downstairs dedicated to day care purposes, one bathroom located downstairs, den, kitchen and back yard.
Areas off limits include: Living room, formal dining area, all of upstairs, attached garage and front yard.
Licensee states that there are no weapons or firearms on the premises. LPA did not observe swimming pools or spas on the premises. The backyard is adequately fenced. There are age appropriate toys and equipment on the premises. The smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors are present in the facility and in operational condition. Fire extinguisher is present.
