32 | All storage containers for solid waste, including moveable bins have tight-fitting covers that are kept on and in good repair. Trash cans used to discard food have lids that are kept on.
When inspecting the outdoor playground equipment, at 9:14AM LPAs observed that the drinking faucet was covered in dirt and not functioning (pictures were taken). At 9:15AM LPAs observed dirt and spider webs inside play structures and play tunnels. At the same time LPAs observed that one of the play structures is a play house and inside the play house there is a toy sink and cabinet that were covered with dirt and broken (pictures were taken), another play house made of wood has splinters exposed, and there is a broken gazebo. LPAs advised Teacher that the play house should be discarded due to the broken areas exposing sharp edges, in addition, LPAs observed a large spider (pictures were taken). When inspecting the surface of the outdoor activity space, at 9:19AM. LPA observed that the rubber matting under the slide is worn down and in another area a piece is missing and can cause a tripping hazard (pictures were taken). There is adequate shade in the play yard. Availability of outdoor drinking water was not observed. At 9: 54AM LPAs observed children going outside to play in the outdoor area and at 10:01AM LPAs observed Child #10 walk into the facility from being outdoors to drink water indoors and walk back out to go outside. LPAs advised that no children shall be left without the supervision of a teacher at any time and that water should be readily available both indoors and outdoors.
All floors were observed to be clean and safe. All materials accessible to children were observed to be toxic-free There are no firearms stored on the premises. There are no pools or bodies of water at the facility.
All individuals present have obtained a criminal record clearance or criminal record exemption. There is at least one person trained in CPR and Pediatric First Aid present during this inspection.
Children’s Records were reviewed. In reviewing children's records, LPAs observed that Child #2, #4, #6, and #7 had incomplete medical and emergency information.
LPAs also reviewed staff records. The review of Staff records was documented on the LIC 859. Staff present did have proof of the AB 1207 Mandated Reporter Training certificate on file. Staff present did have proof against TB, measles, pertussis, and influenza. All staff have been given on the-job training sanitation principles, housekeeping, including universal health precautions. -----Page 2 of 4
