25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Randy Derraco conducted an unannounced required one year annual inspection on 09/22/23 at 12:30 pm. LPA met with Cynthia Mojarro, Teacher, who guided analyst on a tour of the facility. Coralia Dolmuz, Supervisor, continued facility tour with LPA at 1:15 PM. LPA observed 6 adults and 23 children in care. This is a preschool program which consists of 2 classrooms. Facility operation hours are Monday to Friday from 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM.
All areas identified on this report were inspected. Upon arrival, the following staff were present during this inspection: Room 1: Staff: S1, S4 with 13 children; Room 2: Staff: S2, S3 with 10 children; Teacher-child ratios were observed to be in accordance with Title 22 Regulations. All children were observed to be under visual supervision of a teacher at all times.
The following was observed during the tour of the facility:
Children's roster was reviewed and is current. Sign in and out sheets were reviewed to ensure that the person who signs the child in and out uses their full legal signature and records the time of the day. Per supervisor, the center uses Child Plus application to sign children in and out. If the application is not available, the center uses a traditional sign in / out log. LPA observed a binder with sign in / out sheets for children in care. Children present were signed in. Disaster drill log was available, last drill was conducted on 09/14/23. LPA observed required licensing documents posted on bulletin board in both classrooms above the classroom sink.
Furniture and equipment were inspected for age appropriateness and good repair. LPA observed material and equipment to be free of sharp, loose, or pointed parts. Telephone service, heating, lighting and ventilation were evaluated and are operable. Children have their own cubby to store their belongings.
