At 9:10AM, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Steven Tung and Roxana Lopez conducted an unannounced annual inspection. A risk assessment was conducted prior to entering the facility. Due to COVID-19 precautionary measures were taken, licensing staff present during inspection wore appropriate personal protective equipment. LPAs met with Licensee Veronica Jimenez who guided analysts on a tour of the facility. There were 11 children present and the Licensee states that there are currently 18 enrolled. The Licensee’s 2 Assistants were also present.

Family members residing in the home are 3 adults (criminal record clearances on file) and 1 child. This is a one-story home which consists of 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, kitchen, dining room, living room, converted garage (play room), front yard (not fenced), and backyard (fenced). The children use the bathroom closest to the backyard, 1 out of 3 bedrooms, the converted garage (play room), and the backyard(fenced). Per licensee, areas off limits to children and parents include: 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, kitchen, living room, dining room, and front yard (not fenced). The LPA toured all areas used by children during this visit.

Areas accessible to children were inspected to ensure that they are clean and orderly with ventilation and heating for safety and comfort. There were safe toys, play equipment and materials observed for children. There is a working telephone service maintained in the home. LPA observed a container of Clorox wipes and Hand soap accessible to children in a storage cabinet accessible to children. Licensee states that the poisons in the home are locked up. The licensee does understand that poison must be locked with a key or combination lock.
