25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) R. Derraco conducted an unannounced required one year inspection to the above facility on 05/04/22. LPA arrived at the facility at 10:10 AM and met with Licensee Rashun St. Clair, who guided analyst on a tour of the facility. Also present during this inspection was an assistant, A2, A3, A4 and A5. Per Licensee, there are 14 children that are currently enrolled. There were 11 children present upon arrival.
This is a two-story home which consists of four bedrooms, two bathrooms, kitchen/dining room, living room, a detached garage, front yard (fenced) and backyard (fenced). The off limit areas include all four bedrooms, one bathroom, the back yard and the detached garage.
The main care area is located in the front yard. Per licensee, since the start of the pandemic, most time spent caring for children is conducted in the front yard. LPA observed several age appropriate toys, art supplies,and outdoor play equipment for children. Shade is provided by on the porch of the home. The front yard was observed to have perimeter fencing. The living room was observed to have two playpens, a television two ceiling fans, two couches and a chair. Emergency Disaster Plan, Parent’s Rights Poster and the Facility License were observed at the entrance of the home in the living room. A smoke alarm was also observed in the living room and is operable. LPA observed the kitchen area to have a child sized table and chairs. Per licensee, children can also take meals in the kitchen area however meals are mostly taken outside. LPA did not observe any sharp objects to be accessible to children in care. The cabinet beneath the sink was observed to have child locks. Licensee states she provides food for children in care and also allows parents to bring food for their child. Off-limit bedrooms downstairs were observed to be closed and locked. The stairway was observed to have a child gate to prevent access to the off limits area to children in care. LPA observed the bathroom used by children to be clean and free of defects. Child locks were observed beneath the sink and Covid-19 informative posters were observed on the walls.
