32 | Snack menus were reviewed to ensure that they are being posted at least one week in advance and visible to an authorized representative. The facility provides AM snack, and PM snack. All kitchen, food preparation, and storage areas are clean, free of litter, rubbish, and rodents/vermin. Children bring their own lunch from home in labeled lunch pails/bags. All food is protected from contamination. There is drinking water available in all indoor classrooms and outdoors. All storage containers for solid waste, including moveable bins, have tight fitting covers on and are in good repair. Disinfectants, cleaning solutions, poisons and other items that are dangerous to children are stored in an area inaccessible to children.
Facility has one or more functioning carbon monoxide detectors that meet statutory requirements. The licensee takes measures to keep the facility free of flies, other insects and rodents. Outdoor play equipment was observed to be in good condition, free of sharp, loose or pointed parts. Outdoor activity space surface is maintained in a safe condition as is free of hazards. The Director states that there are no bodies of water on the premises and LPA did not observe any bodies of water during this visit. Areas around and/or under climbing equipment, slides have a cushioning material to absorb a fall. Licensee states there are no weapons or firearms on the premises.
Sign in and out sheets were reviewed to ensure that the person who signs the child in and out uses their full legal signature and records the time of the day. A random sample of Children’s Records were reviewed to ensure that they are complete. LPA issued the Children’s Record Review (LIC 857) to the Licensee during this inspection. In review of children’s records, files contain information including, but not limited to the following: Name, address and telephone number of the child's authorized representative and of relatives or others who can assume responsibility for the child if the authorized representative cannot be reached when necessary.
Staff records were reviewed. All individuals present have obtained a criminal record clearance or criminal record exemption. There is at least one person trained in CPR and Pediatric First Aid present during this inspection. SB792 Immunization Requirements for Staff and Employees was discussed with the Licensee. The Licensee and her staff have current immunization documentation on file. AB1207 Mandated Child Abuse Reporting – Implementation was discussed with Licensee. Website http://mandatedreporterca.com.
