25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Warren Birks conducted an unannounced Required 1 Year inspection. LPA met with Licensee Angela Rodriguez who guided LPA on a tour of the facility. Upon arrival LPA observed the Licensee and cleared assistant caring for six preschool children. There are nine children enrolled attending the facility. All residents associated with the facility were noted.
All areas identified on the facility sketch were inspected. This is a one story home which consists of three bedrooms, two bathrooms, den/day-care room, kitchen, dining area, living room, garage and backyard. Per licensee, areas off limits to children and parents include: 2 bedrooms front yard and garage At 12:00pm LPA provided Licensee with Entrance form.
Areas accessible to children were inspected to ensure that they are clean and orderly with ventilation and heating for the safety of the children. Between 11:35:am and 12:00pm LPA observed age appropriate toys and equipment inside the home and in the backyard. LP observed a small house in the backyard and advised Licensee to always ensure careful supervision for enclosed play equipment. The backyard is surrounded by gates and there is a small locked shed used for storage. There is a working telephone maintained in the home. LPA observed no pets in the home. LPA observed detergents, cleaning compounds, medications, and other items which can pose a danger to children to be inaccessible (locked in cabinets or high above ground). LPA informed Licensee that poisons must be locked with a key or combination lock.
Per Licensee there are no firearms, weapons or bodies of water and LPA did not observe any on the premises. The License, Parents Rights poster, and Earthquake Preparedness was posted. The children's roster and Disaster drill is current (last date of drill April 29, 2022. The required 2A 10BC fire extinguisher has a gauge in the green however, the last date of service is more than 12 months. The Licensee's CPR is current and must be renewed by July 17, 2023.
