32 | Outdoor playground equipment is in a safe condition, free of sharp, loose or pointed parts. The surface of the outdoor activity space is maintained in a safe condition and is free of hazards. There is adequate shade in the play yard. Availability of outdoor drinking water was observed through a pitcher. LPA advised that no children shall be left without the supervision of a teacher at any time.
All floors were observed to be clean and safe. All materials accessible to children were observed to be toxic free. There are no firearms stored on the premises. There are no pools or bodies of water at the facility.
Director was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
Children’s Records were reviewed to ensure that Immunization Records are on file , LIC 700- Identification and Emergency Information, LIC 627- Consent for Medical Treatment, LIC 995A Notification of Parents’ Rights, and LIC 613A- Personal Rights. Children's roster was reviewed and is current. Facility uses the Bright Wheel Application to sign in and sign out children. Children present were signed in. Disaster drill log was available. Last drill was conducted in March 2023.
Staff records were reviewed for approved Pediatric First Aid and CPR certification, LIC-501: Personnel Record, LIC 508-Criminal Record Statement, LIC 9052- Employee Rights, Proof of immunization against measles, pertussis and influenza or influenza declination, TB clearance or risk assessment, LIC 9108- Statement Acknowledging Requirement to Report Child Abuse and current Mandated Reporter Training Certificate. All staff have been given on the job training sanitation principles, housekeeping, including universal health precautions. There is at least one person trained in CPR and Pediatric First Aid present during this inspection.
Preschoolers bring their own food from home. The facility provides a snack if needed. LPA observed the children's lunch containers and water bottles labeled with the children's name.
First Aid supplies were observed in the classroom. According to Director, medication is only administered to a child when accompanied with a doctor's note and is stored in the kitchen. Per Director, no medication is administered at this time.
