25 | A Case Management inspection was conducted today by Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Ana Chico and Fabiola Vasquez. LPAs met with Nancy Sanchez, Program Manager. An application was received to reduce the capacity from 64 to 40 preschool age children. Previously, Room EC#1 and EC#2 were added to accommodate the increase in capacity. Room K3, which is located at the south end of the school, will no longer be part of the licensed preschool program. Operating hours are 8:00 AM - 2:30 PM Monday - Friday. There were no children present as the program is closed for the summer.
LPA inspected the indoors and outdoors of Rooms EC #1 and EC #2. Both bungalows were observed to be in good condition and are fully gated. New furniture, rugs and materials are available for children. LPA observed available soap dispensers in the children's bathrooms. The bungalows are well ventilated via central air and heat. Water is available indoors via a water station with cups. There is also a small kitchenette with a refrigerator, sink and hot and cold running water. There is an adult restroom and a teacher's office between both rooms. Parent boards were observed in both classrooms. Both rooms have phones available. Meals are provided through the Baldwin Park Unified School District.
LPA inspected the outdoor yard. Shade is provided by a large permanent canopy over the children's play structure. Wood chips are in place under the playground equipment to absorb falls. There is a water source outdoors for children to drink freely and as they wish. A waiver in no longer needed as the preschool program has exclusive use of the playground. Measurements taken indoors and outdoors allowed for the capacity requested. A fire clearance was granted.
A decrease in capacity will be granted for 40 preschoolers . A new license will be issued and will be effective 7/22/19. An exit interview was conducted with Nancy Sanchez, Program Manager.
