25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Jacqueline Martinez conducted an unannounced annual Required inspection to the above child care home. LPA met with Jose Romero, Licensee's Brother who guided analyst on a tour of the facility. During this inspection Licensee, Laura Diaz was not present. Also present during this inspection were 4 Assistants. Facility operates from Monday through Friday. A current children’s roster was available and was current.
Mr. Romero states that 2 adults and 3 teenagers currently live in the home. Mr. Romero states that there are currently 6 Assistants. All individuals present in the home have obtained a criminal record clearance prior to working, residing or volunteering in a licensed home.
All areas identified on the facility sketch that children use, were inspected for safety, comfort, cleanliness, telephone service, ventilation and heating (central). The following was observed and reviewed during this inspection.
This is a one-story home which consists of 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, kitchen, dining room, den, living room , front yard and backyard (fenced) and pool. The children use the bathroom in the hallway, living room and dining room area which is converted into a children's play room and the back yard. The children pass through the kitchen to get to the back yard. Per licensee, areas off limits to children include: the three bedrooms, the den, 2 bathrooms, the front yard, the garage and the pool. The licensee provides food for children in care.
Emergency Disaster Plan, Parent’s Rights Poster and the Facility License were observed to be posted. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medications, and other items which could pose a danger are inaccessible to children. Mr. Romero states that there are no poisons in the home and understands that storage areas for poisons must be locked with a key or combination lock. |
