On September 20, 2022, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Monique Ayala conducted an unannounced Required 1 Year inspection at the above facility. A COVID-19 risk assessment was conducted prior to entering the facility. Upon arrival LPA was greeted by licensee, Gladys Ortega. Also present in the home was licensee's assistant Yesenia Urbina. Per licensee there are 3 dogs residing in the home that have current vaccinations, 1 tortoise and birds; all pets remain in off limits area during day care hours. Per licensee there are 13 children enrolled, LPA observed 4 children in care. Hours of operation are Monday through Saturday, 5:00 AM to 6:00 PM, licensee at times provides overnight care.
This is a single story house with 4 bedrooms and 2 bathroom, enclosed patio, attached garage that remains locked at all times, laundry area with chemicals and cleaning compounds inaccessible to children in care, living room, dining room, kitchen, front yard and completely fenced rear yard.
The day care takes place in living room, dining room, hallway bathroom, bedroom #1, enclosed patio and rear yard. The home is clean, orderly, comfortable, and well ventilated.
Licensee's poisons, detergent, cleaning compounds, medications and other items which could pose a danger to child are stored where they are inaccessible to children. LPA observed working smoke detector and Carbon Monoxide, fully charged fire extinguisher, and working telephone.
There are several age-appropriate toys and a first aid kit on the premises. Per the licensee, there are no firearms on the premises. The licensee has current first aid and cpr that expires on 06/19/2023.
