25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) R. Derraco conducted an unannounced required one year inspection to the above facility on 07/13/23. LPA arrived at the facility at 10:50 AM and met with licensee, Josefa Vasquez, who guided analyst on a tour of the facility. Also present during this inspection was an assistant, and 3 adults. Per Licensee, there are 14 children that are currently enrolled. There were 8 children present upon arrival.
This is a one-story home which consists of 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, kitchen/dining room, living room, den, front yard and car port. The off limit areas include 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, living room, kitchen/dining area and front yard
The main care area is located in the den. LPA observed a child sized table, child sized chairs, age appropriate toys, and children's reading material. Emergency Disaster Plan, Parent’s Rights Poster and the Facility License were observed to be posted in the main care area. The bathroom was observed to have an operable sink, toilet and faucet. A U-Lock was observed on the cabinet beneath the bathroom room sink. The outdoor play area is located in the car port and was observed with perimeter fencing and shade. Additional age appropriate toys, children's outdoor play equipment were observed in the car port. Two pet dogs were also observed to be fenced in the off-limit area of the front yard. LPA did not observe the following items during the inspection: Infant Walkers, Johnny Jumpers, Saucer Chairs. Detergents, cleaning compounds, and other items which could pose a danger to children were observed to be locked beneath the off-limits kitchen sink. Licensee understands that storage areas for poisons must be locked, not just inaccessible. No sharp objects were observed to be accessible in any part of the home. The licensee states that she provides food for children in care and understands that children that bring food from home must be individually labelled and properly stored or refrigerated. Smoking is prohibited in a licensed Family Child Care Home. Per Licensee, no one smokes in the home.
