25 | Licensing Program Analysts, Seung Lee and Shushan Safaryan conducted an unannounced annual random site inspection to ensure the health & safety standards as required by regulations governing family child care homes. Upon arrival, LPAs met with Licensee Alma Contreras and toured the home. There were 12 children present with 1 assistants. Individuals residing in the home are the licensee, and licensee's husband. This day care's operating hours are Monday- Friday 7:30am to 5:00pm. Licensee is not providing care for any infants at this time.
This is a one story home which consists of 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, kitchen, dining room, living room (FIREPLACE: inaccessible), children's playroom, garage, basement, and backyard (fenced). The following areas are used for day-care: 1 bedroom (Children's playroom), 1 restroom, and parts of the backyard. Off limits areas include living room, dining room, kitchen, garage, basement, 2 bedrooms, and 1 bathroom. The parents enter through the side gate of the yard, parents have the gate code per assistant, which leads to a door of the 1 bedroom that is used as the main day care room.
The facility has the Parent’s Rights poster and other appropriate forms posted on wall in the main class room. First Aid/CPR certificate for the Licensee is valid until 09/2023. Fire extinguisher was observed in the kitchen with a service tag of 10/05/2022. Disaster drill log shows that the last fire/emergency drill with children was conducted on 08/23/2023
Detergents and cleaning supplies were inaccessible. Licensee states that all hazardous materials are kept in the off limits part of the home in the laundry room by the kitchen. There is an operational smoke detector in the hallway by the main room and a carbon monoxide detector inside the main room. The home has electrical outlet covers throughout and maintains a First Aid Kit.
