32 | Currently facility does not have any infants enrolled. LPA reminded Licensee of the following incase Licensee decides to have infants in the future: appropriate sleeping arrangements is needed. Play yards cannot hinder the entrance or exit from the sleeping space. Mattresses shall be firm and covered with a fitted sheet that overlaps the underside so it cannot be dislodged. Play yards are to be free of loose articles and objects. LPA discussed new Safe sleep regulations, including LIC 9227 Infant Sleep Plan for infants under 12 months, 15-minute sleep check documentation for infants 0-24 months, and provided PIN 20-24-CCP. LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment.
Children currently play in the side and back yard. At 10:45am, LPAs observed closed paint can with dried paint stuck to the outside, drill, hinges and broken jagged edges on the playhouses. LPA also observed a glass window and cords. Licensee stated that she is having work done and will remove items today 01/26/24. Photos were taken and type B was cited. The backyard is fully fence. Licensee states that child is never alone when playing in the side and backyard.
At 11:00am, LPAs conducted children's file reviews and had (LIC) 282- Affidavit Regarding Liability Insurance, LIC 995A Notification of Parents, LIC 700 Identification & Emergency Information. LIC 627- Consent for Medical Treatment was missing. Technical violation was given.
Staff records were reviewed for approved: Proof of immunization against measles, pertussis and influenza or influenza declination, TB clearance or risk assessment, LIC 9108- Statement Acknowledging Requirement to Report Child Abuse,and Mandated Reporter Training (expires 08/03/25). At 11:10pm, Licensee did not a EMSA approved Pediatric First Aid and CPR. Type B was cited.
Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, expect as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be up assessed if this regulation is violated. |
