An unannounced Required Annual site inspection was conducted by Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Bardo Baluyot, who met with Teacher, Brenda Bueno who guided LPA on a tour of the facility. LPA conducted a COVID risk self-assessment upon entry. This facility operates an infant license with a toddler option. Hours of operation are 8:30-3:00pm. There are two bungalows (# 2 and 3) assigned to this license. There is another Head Start Program on this property with a separate license.

Bungalows were identified on facility sketch and inspected.

Bungalow #3: LPA observed a total of 2 staff with 4 children. This bungalow has a partition separating two classrooms referred to as the Toddler 1 and the Wobbler Classroom which caters to children 18-36 months. Bungalow #2: LPA observed a total of 3 staff with 2 children. This bungalow caters to children birth to 18 months.

LPA found that facility is within ratio. Care and supervision was evaluated to determine if the basic needs of children are met. LPA observed during this inspection that facility is in compliance of this. LPA reviewed sign in/outs sheets and children's roster.

Furniture and equipment were inspected for age appropriateness and its condition. Telephone service, heating, lighting and ventilation were evaluated. Storage space/area for children's belongings was inspected. The condition and age appropriateness of children’s sinks and toilets were inspected. Changing tables were inspected for cleanliness and accessibility to a sink within arm's reach was observed. Sleeping equipment was observed in the classrooms. LPA evaluated general sanitation and cleanliness of facility. Availability of indoor drinking water was observed in form of a water jug and disposable cups which is also used for outdoor drinking water.

Outdoor area and equipment was inspected for safety, cushioning material, condition and age appropriateness. Required shade, drinking water and fencing were inspected. Play area was inspected for hazards and inaccessibility to bodies of water.

Snack/lunch menus were reviewed. Food and snacks were reviewed for availability, quantity and appropriateness to children in care. Food preparation area was inspected. LPA observed that food items such as formula and bottles for infants are labeled with name and date of birth. Expiration date on formula has not passed. A review of cleaning and food supply storage areas was made. LPA inspected First Aid kit’s supplies and completeness. Smoke and carbon monoxide detector were tested.

Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see Evaluator Manual - Regulation Interpretations and Procedures for Child Care Centers Sections 101173 and 101226. When any IMS is provided, an updated Plan of Operation that includes IMS must be submitted to the Department. No children or staff files were reviewed during today's visit.

No Deficiencies were cited at this inspection.

Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with Teacher, Rosanna Orozco. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Failure to comply with posting requirements shall result in an immediate civil penalty of $100.
