25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Randy Derraco conducted an unannounced required one year inspection on 09/20/22 at 1:45 pm. LPA met with Giselle Briones, Program Coordinator, who guided analyst on a tour of the facility. This is a School-Age program which consists of 3 classrooms. Facility operation hours are Monday to Friday from 6:30 AM to 9:00 AM; then 2:00PM to 6:00PM. The facility provides transportation services to and from school. LPA observed Director, Angelica Cortez, arriving at the facility at 2:45 PM and joined the tour.
All areas identified on this report were inspected. Upon arrival, there were four staff present and no children in care. Per Director, each classroom is named and separated by age. Day care classroom cares for children in Kindergarten to First Grade. Center classroom cares for children in Second Grade to Third Grade. Red classroom cares for children in Fourth Grade and up.
The following was observed during the tour of the facility:
Children's roster was reviewed and is current. Sign in and out sheets were reviewed to ensure that the person who signs the child in and out uses their full legal signature and records the time of the day. Disaster drill log was available, last drill was conducted on 09/15/22. LPA observed required licensing documents posted on bulletin board in the Center classroom
Furniture and equipment were inspected for age appropriateness and good repair. LPA observed material and equipment are free of sharp, loose, or pointed parts. Telephone service, heating, lighting and ventilation were evaluated. Children have their own cubby to store their belongings. Per Director, the isolation area is located in the office. Age appropriate sinks and toilets were inspected for availability and good repair in all restrooms. Bathrooms were observed to be gender specific and they provide individual privacy for children.
