25 | Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Crystal Green and Bardo Baluyot conducted an unannounced annual inspection. Upon arrival, LPAs met with Patricia Loebs, Director. LPAs was guided on a tour of the facility. This is parent co-operative program serving children ages 2.6 months to 5 years old. There is school age program operating on the same site License #198001578. Preschool program operates from 8:30AM to 11:30 AM.
Licensing staff toured the indoor classroom. Per Director, the preschool program curriculum is mainly conducted outdoors using different outdoor activities. During this inspection, LPAs observed 15 preschoolers participating in outdoor activities with 4 staff members and 3 volunteer parents. Staff names were recorded. The facility was observed to be meeting the required teacher child ratio. Sign in and out sheets was reviewed to ensure that the person who signs the child in and out uses their full legal signature and records the time of the day.
Furniture and equipment were inspected for age appropriateness and good repair. Telephone service, heating, lighting and ventilation were evaluated. The ill isolation area is located in the director's office. Age appropriate sinks and toilets were inspected for availability and good repair in all restrooms. Smoke detectors were tested indoors and are operational. Outdoor playground equipment is in good condition, free of sharp, or pointed parts. The surface of the outdoor activity space is maintained in a safe and is free of hazards. There is adequate shade provided in the play yard. LPAs observed water igloos with cups available outdoors so that the children may drink freely.
Due to this program being a half day program, this facility provides only AM snack. Food storage areas are kept clean and are free of litter, rubbish and rodents and/or any other vermin. Food preparation areas were inspected for cleanliness. Menus were observed to be posted and available for review. Disaster drill log was available, last drill was conducted in 9/2019.
