25 | An unannounced Annual Random Inspection was conducted on this day by Licensing Program Analyst (LPAs) Fabiola Vasquez and Raul Navarro .Facility is currently licensed for a capacity of 50 Licensing staff met with Director, Janet Torres. The program currently operates Monday thru Friday from 6:30 AM to 6:00 PM. Licensing staff was taken on a guided tour of the facility of both indoors and outdoors.
At the initial start of the site visit, there is a total census of 26 children and a total census of 3 Staff with director 4. Furniture and equipment was inspected for age appropriateness and good repair. Telephone service, heating, lighting and ventilation were evaluated. Storage for children's belongings was observed. Mat/cot was inspected. Availability of drinking water was reviewed. Age appropriate sinks and toilets were inspected for availability , good repair, water temperature, toilet paper, area safety and sanitation. LPAs observed two toilets in the 4 year old classroom were not working. Toys observed to be clean.
A first aid kit is kept in the kitchen, a smoke detector was observed. A carbon monoxide detector was not present in the 2 year, 3 year and 4 year old classrooms. Fire extinguishers have been serviced in 3/3/20. Hazardous items including poisonous cleaning compounds were observed by LPAs in the 3 year and 4 year old room.
Snacks/lunch menus were reviewed. Food and snacks were reviewed for availability, quantity and appropriateness to children in care. Food preparation areas were toured for safety, cleanliness and proper equipment. Lunch, morning and afternoon snacks are served.
