25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Dayna Chambers conducted an unannounced annual inspection to the above facility on August 17, 2022. LPA arrived at the facility at 1:00pm and met with Trina Leeuwen, Licensee who guided analyst on a tour of the facility. Also present during this inspection was Licensee’s Assistant. Per Licensee, operation hours are 6:00am to 6:30pm Monday through Friday, closed on weekends. There are 12 children that are currently enrolled. A current children’s roster was available for review. There were 4 children present upon arrival. This is a one-story home which consists of 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, kitchen, dining room, living room, front yard and backyard (fenced). The children use the bathroom in the hallway. LPA observed that there is no fireplace. Per Licensee, areas off limits to children and parents include: 2 bedrooms. The licensee provides food for children in care: breakfast, lunch, am and pm snack.
Individuals who reside in the home were noted and discussed. Per Licensee, they currently have one assistant. All adults present in the home have obtained a criminal record clearance or exemption prior to working, residing or volunteering in the licensed childcare home. Licensee states that there are no firearms stored in the home. All areas identified on the facility sketch that are accessible for children to use were inspected for safety, comfort, and cleanliness. There is telephone service via cellphone that is used, and the cellphone stays at the facility during operation hours. There is ventilation and heating via central heat and air. Safe toys play equipment and materials were observed.
Detergents, cleaning compounds, medications, and other items which could pose a danger to children were observed to be inaccessible to children. Poisons are locked and stored in a cabinet -high up in kitchen. The restroom that children use was observed to be safe and sanitary.
The valve on the required 2A 10BC fire extinguisher indicates fully charged and was serviced on 09/20/2021, as indicated on service tag. Smoke and carbon monoxide detectors were tested and are operable.
Licensee states that she is currently caring for infants. Licensee states that infants sleep in the dining room and the infants are constantly supervised. Appropriate sleeping arrangements and cribs were observed. (one crib for each infant in care was observed. Cribs or play yard did not hinder the entrance or exit from the |
