An unannounced Annual Random Inspection was conducted on this day by Licensing Program Analyst's (LPA) Alicia Bailey and Susann Sanchez in accordance with Community Care Licensing (CCL) Title 22 Division 12 Chapter 1, governing Infant Child Care Centers. Upon arrival LPA's met with Director, Sherri Patton was informed the director of the nature of the inspection. There is also a Preschool licensee component in the facility with license number #198016590.

The facility is currently licensed for a capacity of 12 infants, director Patton stated, the facility currently does not have any infants enrolled in the program. The infant program has no shared areas.

At 7:51am LPA's was guided on a tour and inspected the facility. Director states facility operates in two session from 9:00am thru 12:00pm then 12:30pm thru 3:30pm Monday thru Friday. At 8:05am LPA's meet with Licensee Curtis Jenkins. Licensee Jenkins had questions for LPA's regarding facility license.

LPA's Bailey and Sanchez observed parent board when you first enter the facility.

Areas inspected during today’s visit included, indoor and outdoor activity spaces, children's restrooms, kitchen/food prep area, storage areas and closets.

A first aid kit is kept in the classroom and in the Director's Office. Carbon monoxide detectors and smoke detectors are present in the facility. The smoke detectors and carbon monoxide is tested by the city of Los Angeles fire department on 11/18/19. Fire extinguishers were serviced in 10/2019. Storage cabinet in classrooms was locked and hazardous items including poisonous cleaning compounds were stored inaccessible to children.

LPA's Bailey and Sanchez toured the infant room 1& 2, at 8:15 am the furniture and equipment was inspected for age appropriateness and good repair. Telephone service, heating, lighting and ventilation were . Age appropriate sinks were inspected for availability, good repair, water temperature, area safety and sanitation. Toys observed to be clean.

Storage for children's belongings was reviewed. LPA's toured the food preparation areas were inspected for safety, cleanliness and proper equipment. Meals are provided by parents. Am and PM Snack are provided by facility.

The outdoor equipment was inspected for safety, cushioning material, good repair and appropriateness. Required shade, drinking water and fencing were inspected. Play area was inspected for hazards and inaccessibility to bodies of water. No hazards or bodies of water observed.

At 8:30 am LPA's Bailey and Sanchez reviewed Criminal Record Clearances for adults. CPR card expires in 10/2020 for director.

LPA's reviewed SIDs, Never Shake A Baby, and safe sleeping practices. Infants should sleep mouth up, on their backs, free of clutter surrounding their sleeping space. Handout were given.

LPA's discussed Incidental Medical Services (IMS). At this time there are no infants receiving IMS services

Based on the completion of today’s inspection no deficiencies were cite on this date.

Exit interview conducted with Director. Notice of Site Visit must be posted for (30) days. Failure to do so may result in a $100.00 civil penalty. Appeal Rights were given and explained.
