25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Dayna Chambers conducted an unannounced annual inspection to the above facility on June 22, 2023. LPA arrived at the facility at 1:05PM and met with Kambraia Watts, Licensee who guided analyst on a tour of the facility. Also present during this inspection, was spouse Lee Dixon, Licensee’s Assistant. Per Licensee, operation hours Monday through Sunday 7:30am to 7:30PM. There are 14 children that are currently enrolled. A current children’s roster was available for review. There were 2 children present upon arrival. This is a one-story home which consists of 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, living room, dining room/kitchen, den, laundry room in kitchen area, detached garage, front yard, and backyard (fenced). The children use the bathroom in the hallway. Per Licensee, areas off limits to children and parents include Bedroom #1, Bedroom #2, and Bedroom #4 and 1 bathroom. The licensee provides food for children in care. There are 2 dogs on premises, and they are not accessible to children in care during operation hours. Individuals who reside in the home were noted and discussed. Per Licensee, they currently have one assistant. All adults present in the home have obtained a criminal record clearance or exemption prior to working, residing, or volunteering in the licensed childcare home. Licensee states that there are no firearms stored in the home. All areas identified on the facility sketch that are accessible for children to use were inspected for safety, comfort, and cleanliness. There is telephone service cellphone, and the cellphone stays at the facility during operation hours. There is ventilation and heating via central heat and air. Safe toys play equipment and materials were observed. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medications, and other items which could pose a danger to children were observed to be inaccessible to children. The licensee states that there are no poisons in the home and understands that storage areas for poisons must be locked with a key or combination lock. The restroom that children use was observed to be safe and sanitary.
The valve on the required 2A 10BC fire extinguisher indicates fully charged and was serviced on 05/16/2023, as indicated on service tag. Smoke and carbon monoxide detectors were tested and are operable.
Licensee states that she does not enroll infants 0-2 years old at any time. Due to Licensee operating from Monday through Sunday 7:30am to 7:30am. LPA discussed sleeping and napping arrangements for children in care. Currently, children are using the back yard for outdoor play time. The outdoor play area was observed to be fenced. LPA observed that the outdoor yard has toys and other materials for children to play with. LPA did not observe any objects that can pose a danger to children on the outdoor yard. |
