NARRATIVE

Upon arrival LPA Lee met with Licensee Eunjung Jang who provided a tour of the facility. LPA Lee observed a total of 5 children at the facility. All areas of the facility sketch were inspected. This is a two story home consisting of 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The following areas are used for day-care: All of down stairs which includes dining room and living room, and 1 bathroom. The front and back yard is also used for outdoor play. Off limit areas includes: Kitchen down stairs and all of the second floor. Licensee has the Parent’s Rights poster and other appropriate forms posted on wall in the living room. First Aid/CPR certificate are valid thru 10/2021. Licensee stated she has practiced fire/emergency drills with day-care children on 06/11/2021, providing LPA with disaster drill log. Licensee has a working telephone. Detergents and cleaning supplies were observed to be inaccessible. Fire extinguisher has been purchased in the last year. Receipt shows the date of 01/04/2021. There is an operational smoke detector and carbon monoxide in the home. The home has electrical outlet covers throughout and maintains a First Aid Kit. There are adequate age appropriate toys, books, and games. There are no firearms present on the premises as stated by licensee. Currently there are no pets During the inspection LPA Lee observed a small inflatable pool with water in the backyard. Licensee stated that the children were using the pool earlier in the day. Licensee stated that the water in the pool will be thrown out and the children will not go back out in the backyard for the rest of the day. Licensee was advised that children playing the backyard require visual supervision at all times.

Licensee was advised to refer to the California Department of Health's updated guidelines for Family Child Care Homes in regards to health and sanitary practices.

The following were discussed: Individuals who are 18 years of age or older living in the home must be finger print cleared prior to being in the presence of the children in care. Individuals within one month of their 18th birthday must be fingerprinted immediately. No smoking, No infant walkers, No baby bouncers, No Johnny jumpers, No exersaucers and any other item that falls into that category. LPA discussed disaster drills, posting requirements, children records requirements, mandated child abuse and injury/death reporting.

A qualified Assistant must be present and actively involved in caring for children whenever nine (9) or more children are present at the facility in a large family child care home.

No Deficiencies were cited on this visit

Incidental Medical Services are not provided at this time. Licensee was informed to contact the department 30 days prior to enrolling any child with IMS needs. LPA advised LIcensee to refer to Section 101173 and 101226 for further information on regulatory requirements. Regulation Interpretations and Procedures for Child Care Centers Section 102417. LPA advised the Licensee to access forms and regulations on line at: www.ccld.ca.gov

The Notice of Site Visit (LIC 9213) – must remain posted for 30 days during the hours of operation after each site visit by a licensing representative. Failure to maintain posting as required will result in a civil penalty of $100.00.
