25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Warren Birks conducted an unannounced Required 1 Year inspection. LPA met with Licensee Kamini Batugedra who guided LPA on a tour of the facility. Upon arrival LPA observed the Licensee and cleared assistant caring for eight preschool children and two infants during naptime. There are 10 children enrolled attending the facility. All residents associated with the facility were noted.
All areas identified on the facility sketch were inspected. This is a single story home with four bedrooms, three bathrooms, living room, large family room(daycare room), kitchen, dining area and backyard. The Licensee uses the living room, family room, kitchen, dining area and backyard for care. Areas off-limits to children is all other bedrooms and two bathroom. At 2:15pm LPA provided Licensee with Entrance forms, Items not permitted, Safe Sleep PIN 20-24-CCP and a form regarding capacity and ratio.
Areas accessible to children were inspected to ensure that they are clean and orderly with ventilation and heating for the safety of the children. Between At 1:45pm and 2:15pm LPA observed age appropriate toys and play equipment inside the home and in the backyard. LPA observed a rocker (for display only) with a stuffed animal seated that prevent children from sitting in it. A technical violation was assessed as that play equipment is not to be used in a childcare facility. The backyard is surrounded by gates and there is a garage that remains locked. Licensee indicated that no vehicles park behind the gated driveway which is used for children's play area. There is a working telephone maintained in the home. LPA observed detergents, cleaning compounds, medications, and other items which can pose a danger to children to be inaccessible (locked in cabinets or high above ground). LPA informed Licensee that poisons must be locked.
Per Licensee there are no firearms, weapons or bodies of water and LPA did not observe any on the premises. The License, Parents Rights poster, and Earthquake Preparedness was posted. The children's roster and Disaster drill is current (last date of drill June, 2022. LPA observed the Licensee and cleared Assistant have current Mandated Reporter training which expires in 2024. |
