Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Ariel Cazares conducted an unannounced annual/random inspection on this date. LPA met with Director Denise Tuong and LPA was guided on a tour of the facility. There were a total of 48 children and 7 staff present in classrooms throughout the inspection.
There are a total of 4 classrooms (each with their own restroom) and an outdoor playground.
Days/Hours of Operation: Monday-Friday, 7am-6pm.

LPA toured the facility indoors and outdoors. Per director, there have been no alterations since the last inspection. LPA inspected all the classrooms' furniture and equipment for age appropriateness and good repair. Telephone service, heating, lighting and ventilation were evaluated. Children have their own area to store their belongings. Napping cots were observed in the facility. Children's linens are taking home each week to be washed. Per director, the isolation area is located in the office and a staff restroom is made available for ill children. The children's restrooms were inspected. LPA observed age appropriate sinks and toilets. Restrooms were observed to be in clean and working condition. LPA observed and tested the smoke and carbon monoxide combination detector in the kitchen and found it to be in operable condition. LPA observed drinking water in the classrooms in form of water dispensers and disposable cups or personal sippy cups that were labeled.

LPA inspected the kitchen and observed it to be clean and in compliance. The facility provides 2 snacks and lunch to children in care. Menus are posted in the kitchen and each classroom. Cabinet and storage space were inspected. Food was observed to be of quality and quantity to meet the children's needs.

LPA inspected the outdoor playground. The outdoor equipment was inspected for safety, cushioning material, good repair and age appropriateness. Required shade and fencing were inspected. Outdoor play yard has water via water fountain that was found to be functional.

LPA observed no issues pertaining to supervision or teacher-child ratios. LPA reviewed staff and children's records, sign in and out sheets, and disaster drill (last documented 9/17/19) and found to be complete.

Currently there are no children in care who require medication services. Medication is stored in a lock box above the refrigerator in the kitchen.

This facility provides Incidental Medical Services – IMS. LPA reviewed storage of medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children’s, personnel, and administrative records. No deficiencies were observed or cited on this inspection date.

The Notice of Site Visit (LIC 9213)must remain posted for 30 days during the hours of operation after each site visit by a licensing representative. Failure to maintain posting as required will result in a civil penalty of $100.00.
