32 | Smoke and carbon monoxide detector were observed but not tested due to all children napping. LPA observed required 2A10BC fire extinguisher, last purchased 7/2022. The home maintains telephone service via cell phone. The home is observed to be clean and orderly. There age appropriate equipment, toys and material available for children. LPA observed that detergents, knives, cleaning compounds, and medication are stored in the kitchen in a high shelf, inaccessible to children. Licensee states that there are no poisons stored in the home and understands that all poisons must be lock, not only inaccessible to children. Isolation area for sick children waiting to be picked up is in living room, away from the other children. Per Licensee there are no firearms or weapons stored in the home.
The bathroom that children use was observed to be clean and free of hazards.
Infant Care: Currently licensee cares for three infant over 12 months. Two older infants nap on cots. LPA observed one crib visible in the main care den and one pack play yard in the bedroom. Per licensee there are other play yards on hand if needed. Napping equipment does not block entrances or exits. Surface of the pay yards/crib were observed to be firm and flat. Bedding is washed twice a week or more as needed. LPA discussed new Safe sleep regulations, including LIC 9227 Infant Sleep Plan for infants under 12 months, 15-minute sleep check documentation for infants 0-24 months, and provided PIN 20-24-CCP. Licensee states the following a sleep supervision plan for infants: Infant sleeps in the main care area so they can be supervised at all times if infant is asleep in the bedroom a qualified adult stays in the room with them.
Currently, children are using the backyard for outdoor play. Due to the heat children are not playing outdoors for the moment. The outdoor play area was observed to be fenced. LPA observed that the outdoor yard has toys and other materials for children to play with. LPA advised licensee to get a device to make two sheds outside inaccessible to children. LPA also advised licensee to cover propane tanks and wood logs making them inaccessible to children in care. LPA reminded licensee that any area inaccessible to children should be physically inaccessible. There are no pools or spas, or other bodies of water.
Children’s records were reviewed for (LIC) 282- Affidavit Regarding Liability Insurance, Immunization Records, LIC 700- Identification and Emergency Information, LIC 627- Consent for Medical Treatment, LIC 995A Notification of Parents’ Rights, LIC 9227- Infant sleep form (0-12 months, and documentation of 15-minute Infant Sleep Check (0-24 months). Documentation was discussed.
