25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Mireya García conducted an unannounced random inspection. LPA met with Assistant, Arelis Orellana who guided analyst on a tour of the facility. Licensee was not present during this inspection. The licensee's assistant’s Arelis Orellana and Dinora Cabrera were present providing care and supervision. There were 5 children present. Assistant Arelis states that there are currently 6 children enrolled.
Family members residing in the home are 2 adults (criminal record clearances on file), 1 child and 4 dogs (dogs are kept away from day care areas).
This is a two-story home which consists of 4 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, kitchen, dining room, laundry room, living room (upstairs), and backyard (fenced). The following areas are used for day-care: Main day care is provided in one of the homes bedrooms (first room on the right when entering home). Children use the bathroom located in the main day care area and back yard (fenced). Per Assistant, Arelis, areas off limits to children and parents include: 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, living room (second floor) dining room, laundry room and kitchen. At 12:41 p.m.,The LPA began toured all areas used by children during this visit.
Areas accessible to children were inspected to ensure that they are clean and orderly with ventilation and heating central air for safety and comfort. There were safe toys, play equipment and materials observed for children. The second floor stairs are barricaded with a safety gate. There is a working telephone service maintained in the home. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medications, and other items which can pose a danger to children are inaccessible in all areas of the home. Per Assistant, Arelis there are no poisons in the home. The Assistant, Arelis does understand that poisons must be locked with a key or combination lock.
